The weather gods (Predictwind and MetBob) decided that there would be a good window to leave from this evening onward, so Alex and Bill brought the boat up to town from Kettering this morning, stopping to fuel up at the RYCT dock and to raise the CYCT burgee!

Then they pulled up to the public dock in Sullivan's cove to wait for customs clearance.

It didn't take very long and before we knew it they had cast off and friends and family were left on shore to wave goodbye.

The plan is to head down the river, round the SE tip of Tassie tonight, and then head for Nelson. I'll be getting updates from Alex from time to time via satellite phone, so I'll post updates as they go.  It should take around 10 days to get to Nelson - Judy B and I will be flying over to meet them on Saturday the 27th. We'll see who gets there first!
