9am Fri. 19 Jan: Quite bumpy overnight. Winds 24-28kts, gusting into 30's as predicted. Seas mainly wind waves, not too bad, occasionally nasty.  Water in cockpit every now and then gets down below!

Worst problem so far is a water leak from deck (possibly genoa car fitting) got into Mastervolt lead acid battery monitor, so now battery monitoring will be by guestimate (JZ - I assume they are still able to monitor the lithium batteries as that is a separate system).  This morning Alex left the cockpit (while tethered on and under watch by Andrew) to resecure the life buoy and retriever float after waves knocked them loose. No dramas.

Otherwise, all is well. The sun is glistening off the white caps and the albatross are loving it. Wind is forecast to ease later. As of this morning, Rusalka has made 307nm since Sullivan's Cove.

4pm Thur. 18 Jan:  Not much to report from Rusalka, all is well. Satellite comms have been working well and I've had a number of messages from Alex.

Wednesday afternoon they were becalmed and, after drifting back towards Tasmania, they turned on the motor around 9pm.  By 4:30am there was enough wind from the NNW to sail again and by midday they were racing along at 7kts!
